No. The PMBOK® Guide is built on a framework of Project Performance Domains that put the focus on enabling outcomes through project deliverables. It's the PMP® Exam that is aligned to the Exam Content Outline. Remember, the exam is based on many references, not just the PMBOK® Guide.

Key learnings and concepts from the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition remain valid and are referenced in sections of the draft guide. The content of the seventh edition is in final draft, and we are engaging with the last group of stakeholders as part of our efforts to ensure all voices are heard. We are planning for a 2021 release but are unable to provide a final date. As soon as we have a final date for the publication of the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition, we will announce this through all normal communication channels. The course materials were developed to address the PMP® Exam Content Outline. If the Exam Content Outline changes, Authorized Training Partners will have access to updated course materials.

We recognize that many project managers have used specific elements like the Process Groups and ITTOs very successfully in their own project environments. If you are among them, you can continue to use these elements while aligning to the concepts in the Seventh Edition.

No. PMP® Exam Prep courses are only permitted to use the licensed content from PMI. Partners may offer supplemental elements as part of their courses, such as discussion groups, success stories, or real-life applications of knowledge, but cannot create their own instructional materials for exam prep. Organizations that deliver non-licensed material are violating copywrite and intellectual property laws, which may lead to legal consequences and a removal from the program. If you observe non-compliance, such as an Authorized Training Partner delivering PMP® Exam Prep courses that are not using our licensed content, we encourage you to report it by completing the Non-Compliance Form.

All scored exam questions are weighted evenly.

The instructor guide is the same "book," but with instructor notes in the margin about how to teach the class.

The intent of the licensed instructional material provides what an instructor and learner need for success. Additional, supplemental elements (real-life applications, success stories, videos) foster discussion and can aid in students’ learning retention.

The PMP® Exam Prep course materials are designed to help students prepare to take the exam. The topics, learning objectives and tasks covered in the course materials are aligned with the Exam Content Outline, which is what the exam is based on.

Since the new exam has only begun as of 2 January 2021, it is too early to provide conclusive results, but when they are ready to share, they will be shared with you on the Performance Dashboard.

It is highly encouraged for students to complete the survey in order for us to share feedback to you via the Performance Dashboard. The survey can be found on the Logical Operations platform where the students access the learning materials.

We anticipate the Performance Dashboard to be available late Q1 2021.

Yes. New Disciplined Agile instructors can be added to an Authorized Training Partner’s instructor list. Credential verification, resume/cv review, proof of training experience, and the one-day Train the Trainer are requirements for new Disciplined Agile instructors. Courses are to be uploaded via the Education Provider Portal (EPP), which is the backend portal for the Find a Course tool on PMI.org. We have introduced a new category for the PMP® Exam Prep course and the Disciplined Agile workshops – Specialty. For step-by-step instructions, click here. If you inadvertently create either of these courses as PDU-eligible, they will be denied so you can correctly upload the details in the Specialty programs and available in the Find a Course search tool.

Different learning options meet the needs of various learners. Learners who prefer to self-teach will be successful with the on-demand program. However, other learners benefit from instructor-led interaction, conversation, and activities supporting the learning. These learners will be successful with an instructor-led course from an Authorized Training Partner.

If your application was in process prior to 31 December, your courses are still active in the Find a Course feature and are still eligible for PDUs. However, if you did not submit your application until 2021, then you will need to enter your courses into the platform for inclusion on the Find a Course feature.

The Find a Course tool is available now for Specialty Courses, which include PMP® and Disciplined Agile courses.

Yes. We have changed the format of the questions. They are now in a spreadsheet in order to easily show any changes implemented to the questions, including the answer or the rational.

Some partners are using the questions to create mock tests or discussion sessions. Otherwise, they can be shared with learners, but they are a benefit exclusively for Premier partners.

Updated cloned questions will be available quarterly through your Account Manager.

For those Partners that have completed the Reseller Intent form from their Account Manager, contracts have been distributed. If you are interested, there is still time to complete the form.

Currently, we maintain an Authorized Training Partners Directory here on PMI.org’s Authorized Training Partner webpage, which is updated weekly to reflect new Partners. However, this will eventually be replaced by a more robust “Find an ATP” tool that is under development. It will be a search engine-like tool similar to the Find a Course tool that is now live.

To become PMP® certified, candidates need to submit PMP® application online or get a printable application form from pmi.org. PMI® reviews the application and candidates need to submit PMI® audit materials including supporting documents once their application is accepted within 90 days. They can then attend the exam and the name of pass candidates is displayed on the PMI® website within a few days. The PMP® certificate is delivered to you within 4 weeks.

Project Management Professional (PMP)® takes 5 days to review online PMP® forms, 10 days to review paper PMP® forms submitted by the individuals and 20 days to review paper PMP® forms submitted by the corporations.

PMI allows 3 attempts in 1 calendar year. If the candidate does not clear in a year, the 4th attempt can be done only after a wait of 1 year.

PMP certification is valid for 3 years. To renew every 3 years, you need to earn and claim 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) from PMI. Also, a renewal fee of $60, if you are a member of PMI or 150$ if you are not a member needs to be paid. Once done, a new PMP certificate with new expiry date will be sent via postal mail to the registered address. PMP License Number remains the same.
